A tenured college professor, former post-doctorate at Stanford University, data scientist at Coursera, editorial board member of international journals, Dr. Yan has 20+ years of pedagogical and mentoring experience in engineering, mathematics, statistics, and academic reading/writing to high school, college, and graduate students.

Associate Professor at Carnegie Mellon University and former Hewlett-Packard executive, has led high-tech ventures in graduate programs and founded RootAnalysis, a pre-accelerator for mentoring and funding connections. With extensive experience advising top tech companies and startups on strategy, marketing, and innovation. Serves on multiple boards and is a leader on entrepreneurship, leadership, and women in STEM.
